Who wants some soda cookies?

The story behind the "soda cookies" advertisement.

What does it take to make a good commercial these days?

Humor seems to be the best way to get hold of the viewer’s attention and Mobil1 knocked it out of the park this year.

The “Soda Cookies” commercial, which represents the brands involvement in motorsports with interaction between Formula One’s Jenson Button and NASCAR’s Tony Stewart was a hit from the moment it hit the tube.

After applying some Mobil1 oil to his hip, Stewart does the splits while dipping cookies in soda, as Button looks on in confusion.

What is on many race fans minds is whether or not Stewart did the splits for the article.

"Let's make no mistakes about it, if I got down there I would still be down there," Stewart said to SBNation.com at Daytona earlier this year.

"They had me get down on the ground for the camera shot, but they had green screens. They had some male gymnast do it. I don't know who it was. I didn't want to be there when he did it."

Stewart continued, talking about the odd combination of cookies and soda, something that even the driver of the #14 Mobil1 Chevlolet has never tried.

"I can't say that I have ever just sat down and grabbed a Coke and grabbed Oreos," Stewart said.

"I've ate Oreos and then chased them with a Coke, but I can't say that I have done a lot of dunking. It's actually pretty good. It might start a new trend now."

Either way, the commercial has gone viral, and race fans all over the world are talking about “soda cookies.”
