Chase Briscoe is locked into the Round of 12 in race marred by pit road blunders

In a race where pit road blunders seemed to be the theme for the title contenders, and Hendrick Motorsports was surprisingly off their game, Chase Briscoe was near-perfect as he won the Southern 500 for the second consecutive year.
However, there were seven Playoff drivers who finished 20th or worse, including Josh Berry, who wrecked on the opening lap.
After 500 miles of racing at the track 'too tough to tame,' NASCAR now heads to Gateway before the Round of 16 concludes with Bristol. Here's a look at where everyone currently stands in the fight to advance:
