JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)
"I'm really happy with that lap. We knew we had a good car. We had a great test up here. We never made a qualifying lap until just then. We worked on race stuff yesterday, but Kenny and Slugger and everybody on the team has done a great job getting it dialed in. The motor ran good and the car is awesome. I never usually qualify good here or Sears Point, but we should have a good starting spot tomorrow. It always helps to start up front."

"We backed up our deal last week with a great finish at Indy (fourth). We've got to keep doing what we're doing. I'm not going to say we're comfortable with where we're sitting in the points right now by any means, but I feel like we've got a good chance to finish in the top 10. We're going to take it one week at a time and not get wrapped up in thinking we've already got a spot in The Chase."

"We came here and tested and had a great test. We've got several top 10 finishes on road courses. Nobody knows that. They won't be looking for us until we show up in the top 10 or top five and maybe have a shot to win this thing. I'm cool with it. They talk about this driver and that driver, but I know it's a team effort. If we get recognition or don't get recognition we're still there week in and week out. If somebody counts us out and thinks we're gone we show back up again. I think we've shown that when the going gets tough we pretty much get going."

"I'm not saying we're in yet, but when we do get in I'm going to go back and get all the articles that said we couldn't do it again and print those. We're more determined now than we've ever been, and I feel like I'm a better racecar driver than I've ever been. If people want to count us out, they're wrong, and I'm going to prove that."

"We're eighth in the points. Kasey and I get along great. They have a great team, and Kasey is a great guy, but it doesn't bother me (that Kahne gets more press). I've had a lot of that stuff going on in my career, and I like it like it is right now. I'd rather me where I'm at and not be in the spotlight than be in the spotlight and not be where I'm at. I look at all the media talk about all the great drivers and some of the big name drivers aren't in the top 10. Well, if they're big name drivers why aren't they in the top 10? That's the way I look at it."

"I don't care if I'm in the spotlight. I'm here to race. I'm not worried about the spotlight. I'm not here to make movies or sell a watch on TV or whatever. I'm serious. The spotlight doesn't mean anything to me. The spotlight is being in this series. We've come a long way as a race team and it's going to be cool. One day nobody will have any choice but to put us in the spotlight."

"I'm really happy. I love where I'm at. I don't want to leave. I want to retire where I'm at. I don't care nothing about signing later on with other teams. Ray has given me an opportunity and he stood behind me when we weren't running good. He's been a great guy and he's taught me a lot. He's like my brother or my dad. We went through some hard times and the good thing about it when we were going through hard times he looks back now and realizes what I was talking about and explaining to him I wasn't lying to him. I'm behind him 100 percent, and I think he realizes that now. I'd go to war with him and whatever it takes I'm behind him 100 percent."

RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)
"I thought it would be a lot faster than that. It felt faster, but it drove good and I'm happy with the way it's driving. If we can keep it on course tomorrow and get some good pit stops we'll be in good shape."

SCOTT PRUETT (No. 39 Target Dodge)
"I'm pretty happy with it. This impound thing is a lot different than anything I've ever experienced. Everybody on the Ganassi-Sabates team has done a great job, but we're trying to figure out the balance between a good race car and a good qualifying car. We definitely left some on the table. We think the car is going to start on the free side tomorrow. After it gets about halfway through the run it gets a little loose, so we've started a little tight in hopes to have a better race car than qualifying car. The way Tony Stewart has been running I don't know if anybody has got anything for him. You saw what he did in the Busch car, and I'm sure he's going to do the same thing in the Cup car. He's on a roll. I'm a big fan of Tony's. He's done a tremendous job on anything he gets into. We're going to give it to him tomorrow, but I don't know if he'll slow down enough for us to catch up."

JAMIE McMURRAY (No. 42 Home 123/Havoline Dodge Charger)
"We tested here a few weeks ago and the testing paid off. When the lap was over with I knew that was all I had. I drove it as hard as I could without driving off the course. I feel good about the race. I'm not going to win, but we're going to run in the top 10 and that's what we need to do. It was be awesome to win, but if the 20 car doesn't break he will annihilate the field. He's in a league of his own this week."

TRAVIS KVAPIL (No. 77 Kodak/Jasper Dodge Charger)
"It was fun. I had a really good lap going. I got through the bus stop really fast. It was a wild ride. I'm disappointed. It was a decent lap and as fast as we've been since we've been here, but one corner or a couple of corners can cost you a lot of time. I thought I had a good lap going, but I got a little loose in that left-hander and that can really kill you on the stop watch. The team gave me a great car. It drove great. We've got a fast car. If we can minimize mistakes tomorrow we'll have a good day."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)
"I'm pretty happy with the way the car felt. We had brake problems yesterday, and I just lifted way too early. I lost a lot of time, but other than that we were pretty decent. I just lost a lot getting into that inner loop. I like road racing. It takes time to get used to it, and you need to have your car right. I think we're a lot closer than we were yesterday. We picked up some speed and we changed a bunch of things. I gave up a lot in braking. I think we should have a good car tomorrow."
