BILL ELLIOTT QUOTES
"Road courses are always fun for me. I won my first race at Riverside a bunch of years ago, so it's always special for me to go run the road courses. It will be good to be back in one of the red Evernham Dodges. I'm looking forward to working with the team again and hopefully helping them get the No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger where it needs to be.
"Watkins Glen can be a challenging place to run. If you get a little bit off on those turns, it's tough to get back on. And, after spotting at the Sonoma race, I think we're going to see some close, tight racing this weekend. There are lots of folks in the field who don't have much experience at Watkins Glen, so that's going to make things interesting. I think you're really going to have to work to protect your position and your race car all day long."
Elliott will be running a special Dodge SRT paint scheme this weekend, promoting Dodge's line of SRT (Street and Racing Technology) vehicles. It is the same scheme that was on the car at Infineon Raceway back in June. (pictured right)
Elliott has 11 top-10 and four top-five starts at the Glen. His career best was second in the 1995 Bud at The Glen.
Elliott has made three starts for Evernham Motorsports at Watkins Glen. His best finish was 21st in 2002 in the No. 9 Dodge.
The No. 19 Dodge Charger team tested with road-course ace and part-time teammate Boris Said at Virginia International Raceway last Tuesday in preparation for this weekend's race at The Glen.
