BURTON ON THE UAW-GM QUALITY 500
"Charlotte has been a great track for me. It just doesn't seem like we ever have the finish that shows how good a car we had for the race. For instance, we were leading in May and then got a lap down, got the lap back and made it back to the top-10, but ran out of laps. We should have been a factor to win that race, but that's been the way our luck has been all year long.
"Our finishes at the fall race in Charlotte have been a lot better than the 600 (Burton has only finished outside the top 10 once in the fall Charlotte race, and that was in his first attempt), so if that's any indication maybe we'll have a shot at winning the race this weekend."
BURTON ON HIS FRUSTRATIONS OF NOT FINISHING RACES
"It certainly has been frustrating for us as a team, but we have a team that never gives up and always works extremely hard at giving me a great race car. Last week, we weren't too good on Thursday or Friday and didn't have a great qualifying run, but Tommy got the guys together and they made some great changes to the car. By Sunday, we had a car to beat. We were making our way through the field and just got run over. I know Jerry (Nadeau) didn't mean to do it, but it seems like it has happened to us a lot this year. I hope we've seen the end of our string of bad luck this year."
BURTON TO COMPETE IN FIRST BUSCH RACE THIS SEASON
"I'm really looking forward to running that Busch race for Tommy. I know it has been a dream of his to own his own race team and it looks like he has a good start. Pillsbury and I have had a relationship for a couple of years and they had an interest in doing a Busch race. I'm hoping that running that Busch race will help us with the Winston Cup car on Sunday, it should give us a little bit of a test session. We did test the Busch car at Charlotte and it ran real well, so I'm very excited for Tommy and Pillsbury."
