Burton Hopes To Bulldoze The Field At Bristol

"This track is famous for producing some of the best entertainment for the fans.  It's at night and it's such a small track that the fans get a great show.  But, for the drivers it's nerve racking.  You have to be on top of things all the time.  You can't ever let your guard down because as soon as you do, you'll get caught up in a wreck.  Things happen fast."

BURTON ON BRISTOL:

"We had our first top five finish of the season here in the spring.  This is one of the places that the CAT car has run real good.  We ran third here last year in the spring and then just missed a top-10 in the fall, so we are approaching this track with a lot of enthusiasm.

"First, we'll try and get our qualifying run down.  You need to make sure you qualify in the top 20, so you get a pit stall on the front stretch.   That'll be the main focus and then we'll concentrate on our race set-up.   If you do botch up your qualifying lap, this is definitely the kind of place that you could find yourself a lap down soon after the race starts because the field gets strung out around the entire race track."

BURTON ON DODGE'S FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON:

"I am real proud of Sterling and his team.  They have done a great job all year and have been the ones running up front most weeks.  They certainly deserve that win.  I knew that Dodge would get that first win before the year ended.  If we weren't confident of that, Bill Davis would have never have made the switch to Dodges.  It should be the beginning of many wins for the Dodge camp."

TEAM NEWS:

·    Ward Burton spent Tuesday with his children canoeing down a river near his home.  It was a trip he planned with his children before they returned to school.
