BURTON ON DARLINGTON
"It has always been one of my favorite tracks to race at. It has a uniqueness like no other track that we compete at. It's odd-shaped and that requires you to run up along the wall, not at all like Bristol. That's the thing about this sport, last week we're at Bristol and it's important to run at the bottom there and this week we're at Darlington where you can't run at the bottom. That is one of the reasons this sport is so tough. You have to be good at all different types of tracks. And there certainly is no other track like Darlington."
BALDWIN ON TESTING AT TALLADEGA
"NASCAR invited several teams to go to Talladega and test out some new aero changes for the upcoming race at Talladega. And for doing that, they gave us an open test day on Tuesday. We didn't opt to take it because we felt like it wouldn't do us any good. We don't know what they're going to make for changes, so we can't practice them. Also, it would have taken half the day to switch things over to qualifying trim and we just felt it wasn't worth it. We have always had a real competitive car at Talladega and Daytona, so we felt like we had more important things to get ready for, like winning a million bucks at Richmond next week."
* Burton is one of few drivers that have been able to "tame" the track pegged as "Too Tough To Tame." He won the spring event last year and hasn't finished outside the top-12 in the last seven races.
* Burton will drive the same car he ran at Indianapolis and will likely continue using it until he no longer is able to. Burton really likes this particular car and the team intends to continue using it. 0x00b7 The No. 22 Caterpillar Racing team will test at Concord Speedway next Tuesday in preparation for the No-Bull 5 event at Richmond International Raceway next weekend. Burton finished fourth at Daytona in July and therefore qualifies for the event. Should he win, Burton and a lucky fan will win $1 million.
* Burton, along with the other eligible drivers, will be at NASCAR Speedpark in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Thursday, August 30 for the fan pairing for the No-Bull 5 event.
