Quick poll update:

Right now, I've got 32 who say it was ok for Jeff to let Mark by. I've got 9 who think it was not a good idea. Among the "yes" votes, there have been a substantial number of people who think Mark should have made a point of thanking Jeff in Victory Lane. [Mark did thank Jeff, ESPN did not show it--eds]

Speaking of Mark, here's a post from NASCAR Online that might interest you:

NASCAR veteran Mark Martin and his family and friends share their personal stories about Martin's early racing career and what led him to become one of the top drivers on the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit, in his biography, Mark Martin: Driven To Race. The book, written by Bob Zeller and published by David Bull Publishing, was introduced at a press conference Sunday morning at Michigan Speedway. The book tells the story of Martin's racing triumphs and struggles from the beginning of his career at age 15, through the 1996 season. Detailed in the book are his early days racing the dirt tracks of Arkansas, his move into the American Speed Association series, his first attempt at the NASCAR Winston Cup series in the early 1980s and his 10- year career with Roush Racing. His experiences are illustrated with previously unpublished photography and memorabilia from family photo albums and scrap books. "I wanted to do this book because most NASCAR fans don't know where I came from and what it took to get here," Martin said. "Some people wait until their career is over before they publish a biography, but I wanted to do it while the fans were still interested. So many of the personal, financial, and professional struggles I went through made me who I am today. I went through some tough times, but we also had a lot of fun along the way. "You all know me. I'm pretty straightforward and that's the way this book is. I'm not proud of some of the things that are in there, but they're all true, they all really happened, so it's really my life you'll be reading about." (NASCAR Online)
