Is Darlington a hard race track to figure out? "Darlington's a tricky place. It's fast and it's fun, and yet it's so difficult and so challenging because you can't ever take the race track for granted. You can't ever go out there and try to get a little bit more lap time out of it because it will suck you right into the fence. I did that a few times last year and fortunately we were still able to win the race. We'll see how it goes this time around. Last year, we were tight in the beginning of the race and we kept freeing it up. The more we freed it up, the more I kept hitting the wall, but the faster we were going. It's a hard place to understand sometimes, but I like it."
How special is it to race on Mother's Day weekend? "It's neat to go there and to race under the lights on Mother's Day weekend is really something. To have all the moms there is pretty cool as well. To have my mom -- she goes there -- so that's nice. Then we get Sunday at home with her and the family, so Darlington should be a fun weekend."
STEVE ADDINGTON, Crew Chief, No. 18 M&M's Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
What did it mean to win at Darlington last year in your home state? "It was big. Anytime you win in your home state is special. It was like winning in Vegas for Kyle (Busch). It's been a place I always wanted to win. When I was a crew chief in the Nationwide Series we would finish (second) to the Roush (Fenway Racing) cars too many times. And to finally get that win last year in the Cup Series was really exciting. It's just a neat deal to win a race so close to home."
What do you like about Darlington? "What I always used to like about Darlington that makes it exciting is it used to be a rough race track and your tires would wear out. You would really have to have a good handling car and tire management. And good drivers always rose to the top as the race came down to the end. I used to like to watch David Pearson and those guys that would run good and knew how to manage their tires and race the race track. Great drivers rise to the top there and we know we've got one behind the wheel of our car, too."
JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 Home Depot Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
How was your ride around Darlington with Cale Yarborough? "How cool is it to say that Cale Yarborough was driving you around Darlington your first time? It's awesome when you think about it. Who gets the opportunity to drive around a race track with Cale Yarborough? He was in his old-school suit and everything, it was pretty neat. It was different sitting on the right side of these cars for sure, but it was cool to make some laps with Cale and be able to talk to him a little bit."
What makes Darlington so different from other tracks? "This place is one of a kind. The only place that I've been to where you run up by the wall like this is Salem (Ind.) Speedway, and that's only a half-mile race track. It's nowhere near like this. It's not even close. That's the only place where you run up the wall like you do here at Darlington. I'm looking forward to it for sure."
DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 00 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
What are the difficulties getting around Darlington Raceway? "I still don't think I've learned how to get around that place all that well. The place is just so unique and now that they've repaved it, turns one and two are so fast, almost even like superspeedway fast. And then you have to slow the car down quite a bit getting into turn three and trying to make it through there because that turn is so sharp. The track is very, very narrow and I think a lot of people don't realize just how narrow it is and how tough a place it is to pass. It's just a difficult, difficult race track. I don't think words can even put in just how tough the place is."
