CHARLOTTE, (October 16, 2007) -- The No. 99 Office Depot pit crew for Roush Fenway Racing has enjoyed a celebration in victory lane three times this season, including twice during the third quarter, as they made a strong push for driver Carl Edwards to race into the Chase for the Championship. In addition to a Chase birth, the pit crew for the No. 99 Office Depot team has been named the Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew for the third quarter of the season.

The Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew Award is given quarterly throughout the NASCAR Nextel Cup Season. At the end of each quarter, the winning pit crew is determined by a vote of each team's crew chief. The four quarterly winners are eligible for the year-end Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew Award and a check for $100,000 awarded at the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Awards Banquet in New York City.

The No. 99 Office Depot over-the-wall crew for Roush Fenway Racing has helped driver Carl Edwards to wins at Michigan International Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and Dover International Speedway. The No. 99 team has recorded eight top five and 12 top 10 finishes this season.

Through three quarters of the season the No. 99 Office Depot team has recorded an average finish of 13.7 and sits sixth in the standing, 205 points behind current point leader Jeff Gordon.

"The No. 99 Office Depot Pit Crew has really turned some heads as the year has developed," said Andrew Carter, pit crew coach for the No. 99 Office Depot team. "It's truly an honor when your peers, crew chiefs from other teams, recognize the great work that your team is doing. We always strive to improve. Right now we are in the heart of the Chase for the Championship and we are doing everything we can to make sure that at the end of the season Carl and the No. 99 Office Depot team are holding the NEXTEL Cup Series trophy."

"The No. 99 Office Depot Team has embodied the spirit of the Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew Award," said Ted Abdon, Mechanix Wear director of racing. "The No.99 Office Depot Pit Crew has won the respect of their peers and put their team in an outstanding position to compete for a Championship. The Office Depot team has shown what it means to come together and achieve a common goal."
