FORT WORTH-DALLAS (March 6, 2001) - Fans will see even more of their favorite NASCAR Winston Cup drivers as the traditional "Happy Hour" practice session is expanded for the Harrah's 500 weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.

In previous years, the final Winston Cup practice has been scheduled to follow the Saturday NASCAR Busch Series race. This year, the practice will run from 10:00-11:30 a.m. CST on Saturday March 31 prior to the Jani-King 300.

"We think this schedule change by NASCAR is a great thing for our fans," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "They'll be getting even more for their money with the expanded practice time. The whole idea of RPM Week-Texas is to give fans as much racing and racing-related events as we can and this plays right into that idea.

"Fans will now have a chance to head down to Chevy Thunder in the Fort Worth Stockyards and enjoy all the great racing-related displays and entertainment, like .38 Special, Tyler England and more. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Green flag for the Jani-King 300 is Noon CST.

Tickets for all RPM Week-Texas races, including the Jani-King 300 and the Sunday, April 1 Harrah's 500, are on sale seven days a week at the speedway ticket office, by calling (817) 215-8500, online at www.texasmotorspeedway.com and at all Ticketmaster locations.
