JUAN PABLO MONTOYA, NO. 42 LYSOL CHEVROLET, QUALIFIED 4th:
ON HIS QUALIFYING: "Our car was pretty good in practice but not as good as we need to run that much faster. We'll do what we can. This Lysol Chevy is pretty good. It is cool to be in blue this weekend. It seems to be a fast race car so even better. I was actually a little disappointed because we were tight at both ends so I had to lift a little. I told the crew I was going to either be on top of the board or the bottom of the board because if I had to lift, I was going to have to lift a lot and I'm going to go at it. It turned, but just not quite as good as we wanted."
REGAN SMITH, NO. 78 FURNITURE ROW RACING CHEVROLET, QUALIFIED 8th:
ON HIS LAP: "We've had a really good Furniture Row Chevy today. The guys did a great job with the car. We've been working as a team. I think right around Indy time it started turning around for us and we started really picking thing up. Happy with the car and proud of my guys. We have a fast car and hopefully we will be good on Sunday."
MARK MARTIN, NO. 5 CARQUEST AUTO PARTS/GODADDY.COM CHEVROLET, QUALIFIED 9th:
ON HIS QUALIFYING EFFORT: "Really a great improvement. I am really proud of that lap based on what we were doing in practice. I see now that one more crack at it maybe we could have probably improved some yet. The guys did good. Alan (Gustafson, crew chief) made some good adjustments there. We were 30th in practice; we're going to be a lot better than that starting the race. We'll be fine in race trim. The car drives really good, we just couldn't get it wired in quite where we needed it to go fast."
TONY STEWART, NO. 14 OFFICE DEPOT/OLD SPICE CHEVROLET, QUALIFIED 11th:
ON HIS LAP: "It was pretty good but I would really like to go re-run it because I changed a little bit what I was doing in the car. Darian (Grubb, crew chief) made an adjustment and the guys did a great job getting the car ready for qualifying. I felt like I left something on the table there. The car was really really, good, I think we have a good car for this weekend."
RYAN NEWMAN, NO. 39 TORNADOS CHEVROLET, QUALIFIED 14th:
ON QUALIFYING: "Our Tornados Chevrolet was pretty good today in practice, but we never really knew what we had for qualifying because we never quite got a qualifying lap pieced together in practice earlier today. We picked up speed wise from practice, and I think we probably had a little bit more but the car just moved around way too much in (turns) three and four. Hopefully, we'll have a top-10 or top-15 sot there, and I think we have a pretty good Tornados Chevy here for Sunday."
