Round 6 of 34 in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series
Bristol Motor Speedway - Bristol, TN

Starting position - 40th
Finishing Position - 32nd

Robby Gordon finished 32nd in today's Food City 500 from Bristol. After starting 40th, Gordon was hit from behind by Matt Kenseth, sending him into the wall and damaging the front suspension. Gordon's crew fixed the damage, making the car driveable, but lost ten laps to the leaders in the process. From that point on, Gordon was relegated to running a race for experience.

Gordon's finish places him 32nd in the season points standings through six events.

ROBBY GORDON "I read an article about Dale Earnhardt and anger management at Bristol this weekend. I'd be interested to know his thoughts right now after being taken out while leading by the same guy that made our day miserable. We didn't have a chance to win today, probably not from the moment go, but the car was good early. We avoided the first wreck and were simply running for the long haul, trying to see if we could get to the top-15 and improve. I'm not going to name names, but we were tapped from behind by the #17 and sent into the wall. From there the car was junk. The front suspension was bent, the body was a mess - it was pretty ugly.

"But we had moments, somehow the guys always got me back on my feet. We adjusted the toe twice in pit lane, hammered out panels and kept it together. At times we were running laps that were very competitive. I don't know how! But hey, we ran all day. That was an objective and I guess we accomplished that.

"I'd be lying to you though if I said I had any fun out there. That's why I'm upset at being tapped. Who knows where we could have been, but to be put in a situation like we were that early makes things tough. I'm going to go to sleep tonight hearing my spotter say, 'Down low, clear. Down low, clear. Leader behind.'"
