SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:
On this weekend's paint scheme--
"I have seen the FatMax car in the shop and it is pretty cool looking. I can't wait to get on the track with it at Talladega. Anytime your sponsors leverage their program with a special paint scheme, it's exciting. If it was up to me we would have a special paint scheme every weekend, but this FatMax Xtreme Tools look is pretty fitting for a track like Talladega. That FuBar was about the only tool worth using on my Valvoline car at the end of last fall's race. Rodney (Childers) took the FatMax tape rule out yesterday in the shop while we were finishing up the car for Talladega. He stretched it all the way out to 13 ½ feet before it buckled, it was pretty funny."
On driving at Talladega--
"Talladega is less about handling and more about horsepower, that's what it takes to lead the draft. I had good engines last year at MBV and that's why I qualified so well with them. This year Evernham Motorsports has really made some gains in the engine department and I can feel that behind the wheel. Jeremy and Kasey have told me it's a big difference over last year. I think we will have a very strong Stanley Tools/Valvoline Dodge this weekend. It's just a matter of running at the front of the draft to hopefully avoid 'The Big One'."
RODNEY CHILDERS QUOTES:
"We chose to bring our Bud Shootout car as the primary this weekend because it seemed to suck up in the draft better than the 500 car. It handled worse, but Talladega isn't so much about handling as it is being able to suck up in the draft. When we got back from Daytona we worked on the nose and fenders of the Shootout car. When we took it to the wind tunnel it handled better than the Daytona primary, so that just backed up what we already wanted to do."
