TRAVIS KVAPIL, YATES RACING
No. 28 Academy Sports + Outdoors Ford Fusion
"Even though Daytona and Talladega are the only true superspeedways we visit, Talladega is its own unique track. It is a super smooth racetrack that allows drivers the chance to run any line easily. Due to that fact, handling isn't really a concern for teams when we race there. The main focus for us is to have a fast race car with a good engine that is able to survive the rigors of 500 miles at Talladega. This is an impound race for us as well which means that we're able to focus all of our time during practice to race set-ups on the cars. This way we're able to unload when we arrive for the weekend and spend every minute making sure that we're getting all the speed possible from our car before that green flag waves on Sunday. I'm looking forward to Sunday's race representing our brand new Academy Sports + Outdoors Ford Fusion."
Academy Sports + Outdoors crew chief Todd Parrott on Talladega:
"We're actually taking a brand new race car this weekend to Talladega. I feel very good about our chances for this weekend because I think this car will be a real hot rod of a car. Travis had a great run at Talladega earlier this season and we were so close to bringing home a top-5 finish back in April. We've worked on this car a lot over the past few months and of course the engine shop has provided us with the engine horsepower our organization is known for. I just feel really good about our chances, and we're looking forward to bringing home a solid finish with our Academy Sports + Outdoors Ford."
