Bear Creek Country Kitchens Returns with ppc Racing

(MOORESVILLE, N.C.) -- The slogan "Eat My Soup," made synonymous by Bear Creek Country Kitchens will once again "bear" its colors on the No. 22 Miller High Life Ford Taurus in 2004 with driver Jason Keller. Bear Creek Country Kitchens, the makers of dried soup mixes and Freezies, is entering its third year of sponsorship with ppc Racing. The Heber City, Utah-based organization has introduced four new soup mixes during its two seasons with ppc Racing and is working on more this season.

"Our association with Jason Keller and ppc Racing allows us to leverage our soup mixes and Freezies to a whole new audience," said Steve Zupan, Director of Motorsports for Bear Creek Foods. "We have added Southwest Chipotle, Hot n' Sour, Clam Chowder, Split Pea and four Freezie flavors to our line of products during the racing season and have had a tremendous increase in sales not only nationally but internationally. The Traveling Soup Kitchen was added to give race fans the chance to sample our products. ppc Racing's superb on-track performance is getting Bear Creek Country Kitchens the amount of exposure we're looking for in racing."

Returning in 2004 is the Traveling Soup Kitchen, a state-of-the-art kitchen with a surround sound system all on wheels. A hit with the race fans, the Traveling Soup Kitchen provides samples of Bear Creek Country Kitchen soup mixes all the while listening to their favorite music on four, 400-watt speakers. The Traveling Soup Kitchen will make select appearances throughout the 2004 NASCAR racing season, attracting race fans and Bear Creek Country Kitchen soup lovers alike.

"Bear Creek Country Kitchens has partnered with us the past two seasons and has had a lot of success with ppc Racing," said Keller, whose favorite Bear Creek product is "Darn Good" Chili Mix. "Seeing them return for a third season shows they are a loyal sponsor to ppc Racing. Their Traveling Soup Kitchen certainly gets a lot of attention from the loyal race fans."

Founded in 1991, Bear Creek Country Kitchens began with co-founders Don and Sheila White, when they made dried soup mixes such as chicken noodle and potato were sold at local craft fair throughout the West. When word-of-mouth spread about their delicious-tasting products, the Whites soon opened Bear Creek Country Kitchens and blossomed from there forward. Today, Bear Creek Country Kitchens continues to grow with more than 40 soups, dips, Freezies and bread and cakes mixes.
