CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 11, 2007) -- SKI Motorsports and NOS Energy Drink announced today that they will team up to take on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2008. Backed by innovative promotions and top-notch equipment, the team will attempt the series' most celebrated races next season -- the Daytona 500, the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, and the Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
SKI Motorsports will campaign the No. 50 NOS Energy Drink/SKI Motorsports Chevrolet in Sprint Cup Series competition with the fastest growing player in the energy drink market as primary sponsor. The car number celebrates the 50th anniversary of NASCAR and the Daytona 500 -- the most prestigious race in NASCAR.
In an effort to include NASCAR enthusiasts in the golden anniversary of the Daytona 500, SKI Motorsports and NOS Energy Drink are excited to offer one lucky fan the chance to feel like a champion, or least get paid like one. When the team qualifies for the Daytona 500 in February, one fan will receive the original winner's purse of the race which totaled $19,050.00 in 1959.
