BROOKLYN, Mich. (Aug. 12, 1998) Dennis Setzer has been named to drive the No. 13 FIRSTPLUS Financial Ford Taurus for this weekend's Pepsi 400 Presented by Devilbiss at the Michigan Speedway.

It is a one-race agreement between Setzer and Elliott-Marino Motorsports.

Setzer, a two-time winner in the NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division, has been competing in NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series on a limited basis during the 1998 season.

"Dennis has helped this team (Elliott-Marino Motorsports) in testing over the past couple of months," said Elliott, who co-owns the team with NFL quarterback Dan Marino. "We feel that Dennis is capable of getting the job done and are excited that he will be in the car for this weekend."

Setzer, who has tested frequently for Elliott, drove an Elliott-owned, McRib-sponsored Ford Thunderbird earlier this season in the DieHard 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. In that event Setzer started 26th, after leading Bud Beer Second Round Qualifying, and finished 19th, two laps down to winner Bobby Labonte.
