SONOMA, Calif. (February 20, 2001) - The public is invited to Sears Point Raceway on Thursday morning to remember Dale Earnhardt, arguably the greatest driver in NASCAR Winston Cup history.

Sears Point Raceway will feature a live broadcast of the services that will be held in North Carolina honoring the seven-time Winston Cup champion. FOX Sports Net will air two hours of coverage from 8 a.m.-10 a.m., which will include the service and a special retrospective on the legendary driver who was tragically killed during a crash at the Daytona 500 last Sunday. Hosts of the television broadcast will include Mike Joy and Ken Squier.

Fans are encouraged to come to Sears Point Raceway and watch the two-hour tribute. Sears Point Raceway will begin allowing fans into the facility at 7:30 a.m.

In addition, a representative from Raceway Ministries will be on hand for a brief prayer service, and refreshments will also be provided.

Earnhardt has raced at Sears Point Raceway annually since NASCAR first came to the facility in 1989. His victory at Sears Point Raceway in 1995 was the only road-course win of his Winston Cup career.

Sears Point Raceway is located at the intersection of Highways 37 and 121 in Sonoma. For directions, please call 800-870-RACE or visit www.searspoint.com.
