MATT KENSETH -- No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WITH THE COT ON A ROAD COURSE? "I don't know. I expect it to be different. I'm sort of looking forward to it more than any other COT race just because I haven't run very good here in the stock cars here -- the standard cars -- so I'm kind of looking forward to doing something different and kind of starting with a clean slate and starting over."
LOUDON IS NEXT WEEK. HOW DO YOU SET UP A CAR AT LOUDON TO GO FAST? "Heck, I don't know. We're running a COT car up there also and we haven't been there yet or had a track exactly like that, so these cars, I think, once you sort of get them figured out, you're gonna run pretty close to the same setup everywhere. You don't have much room to do anything different."
HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE 24 AND 48 AND THAT THEY'RE GOING TO BE PARKED ALL DAY? "I don't really know what went on there, so not really."
IS EVERYBODY AT A NEW BEGINNING HERE WITH THE COT. DOES IT EVEN THE FIELD MORE? "I hope so, but the guys that are better at it are still gonna be better at it and the guys who run good in the COT races, like the Hendrick guys, are still gonna run good. But I feel like we've been closing the gap a little bit. I feel like our road course stuff has been pretty good. Boris (Said) has been doing a lot of testing and been helping us a lot and I think that's gonna be a big plus for us."
IF JEFF GORDON HAD A BIG SETBACK WITH HIS CAR, WHO WOULD BE THE GUY TO BEAT? "It's hard for me to say today. I don't know. I think the same guys that have been good at the road courses are still gonna be good. Tony Stewart is obviously real good at it and Gordon, those are probably two of the favorites right there. I know everybody is talking about Montoya this week. He could run good, too. I don't know. It's not really like the old days. With all the rules we have with these cars and the gear rules we have and the transmissions and stuff, they're so much easier to drive than what they used to be a long time ago. There's not as big of a difference between a guy who is real good on a road course to an average guy. Everybody is kind of in a closer box. There's a lot of people that could get lucky in fuel mileage and do the strategy right and really have a shot at winning."
