Skip Barber trained Dorsey Schroeder will drive Chip Ganassi's No. 01 car in this weekend's Save Mart 350K at Sears Point. Schroeder, who was tapped for his road-racing prowess, will be the fourth entry among road-specialists who will challenge the Winston Cup regulars at the California course.

Schroeder last piloted a Winston Cup car for Donlavey at Watkins Glen in 1997. He is racing a limited schedule in Grand American this season and in some American Le Mans Series events.

"I was based out of Sears Point Raceway for three seasons when I raced with Tom Gloy Racing in the Trans-Am series, so I have turned a lot of laps there," Schroeder said. "I'm looking forward to the challenge of racing with some of the best drivers in the world this weekend."

Ganassi added, "Dorsey is a fantastic road course driver. When you have an opportunity to add a driver like Dorsey, who has some impressive road-course experience, you have to take advantage of it."
