An evenly dispersed contingent of Skip Barber trained racers took half of the Top-10 spots at Sunday's Pop Secret 400. Jeff Gordon was best among the Skip Barber bunch, taking second place on the 1 mile oval ahead of Jeff Burton, Steve Park, Ward Burton and Joe Nemechek. Their finish positions were 2-4-6-8-10 respectively. Gordon, a four-time winner at Rockingham, hounded the eventual race winner to the final flag but couldn't gain the point when it counted. Jeff Burton led 116 of the 393 lap race. Winston Cup leader Bobby Labonte lost a negligible amount of points with his sub-par race and remains in front with three races remaining.

A day earlier in Busch Series action, Skip Barber grads took three of the Top-10 spots at the Sam's Club 200, also on the Rockingham circuit. Jeff Burton led the Skip Barber trained drivers with his third place result. Todd Bodine followed in fourth ahead of Ward Burton in fifth.

In Champ Car news, Mo Nunn Racing said there was no truth to an article recently published by the Autosport web site that said they had scheduled tests with former Formula Dodge standout Antonio Pizzonia. The earlier piece noted that the Brazilian racer would give up the last two high-profile races in the F3 series to test for the Nunn Team.
