Ryan Truex transported to local hospital after practice wreck
Ryan Truex will not race tomorrow.
During the second of three Sprint Cup practice sessions at Michigan, BK Racing's Ryan Truex lost control while exiting turn two. He overcorrected, sending the car nose-first into the outside SAFER Barrier. The impact lifted the rear wheels off the ground.
He walked away from the mangled wreckage, but has since been transported to a local Michigan hospital for further evaluation. He was complaining about head and shoulder pain after the accident according to BK Racing officials, and is now being checked for a possible concussion.
He had topped 200mph and posted a lap fast enough for 33rd before the accident took place. BK Racing has notified Motorsport.com that Truex will not race tomorrow. J.J. Yeley has been selected as a replacement.
