WALLACE ON ROCKINGHAM.

"It's a favorite track. It's close to home and I have loved going there since my first trip there. It suits my driving style. I have a good feel for what the car needs. We sat on the pole and ran second a couple years back. From that run, I know what the car should feel like to be capable of sitting on the pole and I know how the car should feel to have a good top five finish. We have a good start on the year and we need it to continue this weekend in Rockingham. I have the knowledge to help get the car right and I know we can do it with Philippe. This whole year is about producing. It is about putting the numbers on the board."

WALLACE ON THE RAIN SHORTENED DAYTONA 500.

"In my opinion, we all learned something from it. There wasn't a rule in place to prevent what happened. I think we were all slighted. The fans were slighted, the guy running fifth was slighted, the guy running 30th was slighted, and we were all slighted. We all felt like if we got the race going again, we all could make a charge to the front. I think NASCAR did the right thing. They couldn't make up the rule as the race went along. I had no idea that they had to finish a race on the same day if it made it past halfway or call it. They followed the rules. They did just what they needed to."

WALLACE ON SHORTENED WEEK.

"We were able to get home one Sunday, thanks to Tony Stewart. His pilot flew in the military, so we weren't really worried about his ability. We heard there was snow on the ground, but the ice was pretty bad. There was about ¼ inch of ice on the runway. I had no idea there was ice too. It's a short week with the new inspection and having to be there to inspect on Thursday. I feel bad for the guys, all the testing and the building of the cars; they haven't had much a break. But, we'll get through it and have a good race this weekend."
