Schrader's Thoughts On The Track...
"The "M&M's"® Racing Team got off to a great start in Daytona with a top five in the Shootout and the Twins - we just didn't leave with the finish we had hoped for on Sunday. I think our Speedweeks performance really shows how hard this "M&M's"® team worked in the off-season to get us running at the front, and we expect to have a strong 2002.
"We're all really looking forward to Rockingham. Ask anyone around the garage, and they'll tell you that's where the season really starts. Rockingham is a fun little track that I really enjoy. It has two solid grooves, which means you can run high or low depending on how the car is set up, and that produces some fun racing. We showed just what this "M&M's"® Racing Team could do in Daytona, and I expect to see the same this weekend in Rockingham."
"M&M's"® Racing Team At North Carolina Speedway...
* Ken Schrader and the "M&M's"® Racing Team scored two top-five finishes last week in Daytona. The "M&M's"® car finished fourth in the Budweiser Shootout and third in the Twins. Although both events were non-points races, it helped the "M&M's"® Racing Team off on the right foot at the start of the 2002 season.
* Schrader has long been considered a top qualifier posting 23 pole positions and 15 outside poles in his 17-year career. Of these, one has come in the sand hills of North Carolina when Schrader started at the point for the 1990 fall race. Schrader has also started from the outside pole on two occasions at "The Rock."
* The "M&M's"® Pit Crew is looking forward to their first return trip to Rockingham since finishing third in the World Pit Crew Competition at the track last fall. The pit crew has practiced almost four times a week during the off-season and two times a week during the year. The most colorful pit crew on pit road is hoping that their sporty stops can put the No. 36 back to the front of the pack this weekend.
