MARK MARTIN - No. 6 Viagra Taurus (Qualified 21st)

"I'm happy because I think I know what's wrong with our car now. The guys made some big adjustments on the car before qualifying and it was a little bit better, but, more importantly, it gave us the direction I think we need."

MATT KENSETH - No. 17 DEWALT Tools Taurus (Qualified 23rd)

"It's good to pick up four tenths from practice, but I don't think we're gonna be as good as I hoped we would be. We worked on race setup with this new package just in case it rained tomorrow. I expected to do a little better than that, but it's just about what I thought we would run."

KURT BUSCH - No. 97 Sharpie/IRWIN Taurus (Qualified 27th)

YOU HAVE A HOLE IN THE RIGHT-FRONT TIRE. ANY IDEA WHEN THAT HAPPENED? "We're a bit confused. The car was all kinds of loose, but I think the flat tire came on the cool down lap. We can't blame the flat tire for our ill-handling condition. We were just real tight in practice. We made a couple of adjustments and then went all the way to the extreme on the other end. It's just a starting spot. We'll go back to our good, solid notes that we usually run good with here."

ELLIOTT SADLER - No. 38 M&M's Taurus (Qualified 25th)

"The race track has a lot of grip in it right now, but we just worked on our race trim a bunch. We knew we would give up a little bit in qualifying to be a little bit better in race trim. I wanted to be in the top 20, but that's probably not gonna happen. That's put us in a hole, but we'll just have to be patient come Sunday, stay out of trouble and hope for the best."

HOW WILL THE TIRE REACT HERE? "I think they're gonna fall off a little more compared to what we learned this morning. Plus, everytime Goodyear brings a different tire compound you have to work with your camber some and different types of shocks - whatever the Goodyear compound is asking for. But I've got to compliment them. We had a great time last week at Daytona and I think they've given us a great tire again. It's just up to us as a team to massage them and get them to wear we can use them to our advantage, so we'll just see what happens."

GREG BIFFLE - No. 16 National Guard/Subway Taurus (Qualified 10th)

"Everybody has worked really hard on this Subway car. I wasn't real happy with it when we got it off the truck, but we're getting really close now. I got in the wall coming off of four in qualifying trim and they had to work hard to fix it in practice, but I'm pretty excited about that lap. I was still just a tick too free to get a little more out of the car, but I'm really happy. I hope that gets us in the top 15, but the temperature is cooling down and a lot of guys are picking up."

WHAT ABOUT PREPARATIONS FOR SUNDAY? "This car is turning really good - better than any car I've ever had here - so hopefully that's gonna be a positive when we put it into race trim."

RICKY RUDD - No. 21 Motorcraft Taurus (Qualified 22nd)

"We'd like to have more, but we worked on race setup pretty much all morning. We did make one simulated qualifying run and it wasn't pretty at all, so all the guys on the Motorcraft/Air Force team made a lot of major changes. It's one of those deals where if I could go out and run one more lap, I think we could dial it in quite a bit, but it pushed really bad in turn one. It was loose in practice, so they got it tightened but just a little bit too tight. Still, it's a pretty decent starting spot."

HOW DID YOUR RACE SETUP WORK? "There were about three or four of us out there working on race setups and we were right in there with Matt Kenseth and Sterling Marlin. We looked pretty racy. They're talking about a little weather tomorrow morning, which could either delay or cancel Cup practice tomorrow morning, so we elected to work on race setup. I would say about five or six guys did the same thing. Hopefully, it'll pay off."

JEFF BURTON - No. 99 SKF Taurus (Qualified 28th)

"You need to be able to pick up when you qualify. Right off the trailer we were like fourth-fastest and then we started working on race runs. We made a couple of those and then went back to qualifying to try and make the car better and made it worse. We went back to what we had when we unloaded and it was so loose that we couldn't go anywhere. I'm disappointed we didn't make gains because we unloaded really good and ended up being worse, so that disappoints me. All of us kind of had the same trouble. Biffle and his team did the best, but the rest of us are all right there. None of us came here and tested. We went to Vegas and other places, but nobody came here and tested. That was probably not a good move because there are so many different changes with aerodynamics, tires, a new engine package. There are so many differences that one of us needed to come here and spend some time and we didn't. Hopefully we can learn some things tomorrow."

DALE JARRETT - No. 88 UPS Taurus (Qualified 9th)

"YOU QUALIFIED 9TH AND WON LAST YEAR HERE AND YOU'RE 9TH THIS TIME AS WELL. WHAT ABOUT SUNDAY "Hopefully, a repeat performance would be nice. I've been very impressed with Mike Ford and his organization because we came here and made a qualifying run on our first set of tires. We were really loose, but then we immediately went to race runs with the weather being a little suspect tomorrow. So we got in some race runs and got the car good in race runs and then went back to qualifying again. We got the car much better and then made some more adjustments, so it's been a good day for us and hopefully that will translate into a good day on Sunday."

WHAT ABOUT THE ENGINE HERE? DO YOU HAVE MORE POWER? "I don't know. I've always had a lot of power and probably more than you can use here anyway, so the engine feels really good and the car drives well. That's the main thing. We had good power last year, we just couldn't get the car to where I could use all of that power. If you get the car right, it's fun to have that. Doug Yates and his people do a terrific job and now that we have Roush's input too, it should make us all much better."
