Here are some notes on Ford teams and the cars they will be running in the Dura-Lube 400:

Rusty has had a tendency to perform exceptionally well whenever debuting a new car, and that will be the case this weekend as PC-29 is unveiled here at Rockingham...some of the more recent debuts resulting in top finishes include Bristol last August when PC-26 opened with a track qualifying record and posted Rusty's 53rd career win...PC-27 debuted at Richmond in the fall and was in the lead with less than 100 to go when the engine failied.

JR-52 has kind of turned into Martin's 'old reliable'...the car was built in '98, but has been a consistently solid performer...Martin won this race with JR-52 in '99, but the car's favorite track is Dover...posted consecutive fall wins at that facility in '98 and ' sat on the pole for the fall race here in '99 and raced in this event a year ago and finished 8th. 7 MIKE WALLACE
After running a new car in Daytona last week and finishing an impressive sixth, Wallace will try his hand with another new piece here at Rockingham ...Crew chief Tim Brewer said the team was able to test this car here for a couple of days prior to Speedweeks, but that's the only time it has been on track.

Bodine came out of Daytona with a 15th-place finish and he'll try to continue his team's improvement with a car he ran here at Rockingham in the qualified 25th and finished 26th in that event...only other noteworthy outing came in last year's Brickyard 400 when it qualified 26th and finished 29th.

This car has been one of the strongest in Mayfield's fleet over the past sat on the pole the last time it came to Rockingham in the fall... Mayfield led the most laps in that event, but had problems with the alternator late and ended up limping home finished 2nd to Bobby Labonte at Charlotte in October after leading 46 laps, and also sat on the pole at Dover in September before breaking a valve in the race and finishing's last start came at Homestead in November when it qualified 22nd and finished 2nd.

The car Kenseth will pilot this weekend was raced primarily last year on banked tracks...debuted here at Rockingham in the spring and finished 37th, but it posted a 12th-place finish in the first Bristol race and ran 2nd in the June Dover event...last time the car ran was in the Bristol night race when it suffered from overheating problems and finished 39th.

The last time Sadler got behind the wheel of this particular Taurus, it didn't last very long...after only 18 laps in the season finale at Atlanta, Sadler blew an engine and was done for the day...that marked only the second start for the car, which debuted in October at Charlotte and finished 16th...this was the third car produced as part of the team's alliance with Roush Racing.

Spencer has raced this car only once before and it was here at Rockingham in October...was running in the top 15 when he got hit from behind and ran into the wall...ended up 39th as both he and Mark Martin got collected on lap 174 of the 393-lap event...only other track experience for this car came during a test session last year at Indianapolis.

The car Rudd will have this weekend raced only twice in 2000 -- both times it was here at sat on the outside pole for this event and even though he never led, Rudd finished 6th on the's last outing here in the fall ended up with in a 3rd-place run that saw Rudd lead two times for 13 laps.

The Tide crew believes the car Craven will drive this weekend is the best one in the No. 32 fleet...WC-9 ran last at Phoenix in November and finished addition it competed at Darlington on Labor Day weekend and qualified 7th (finished 24th) also posted the team's best finish, which was a 10th-place run at Indianapolis in the Brickyard 400.

The last time this car raced was at Phoenix with Darrell Waltrip...DW finished 33rd that afternoon (2 laps down) also ran at Martinsville and Loudon the second half of 2000 -- finishing 27th at Martinsville and 29th at New Hampshire.

After racing at Daytona last week, Pressley and his 77 Jasper team went to Atlanta, where they participated in a two-day test...the car Pressley will run this weekend actually debuted here at Rockingham in the October race and finished ran a couple of weeks later at Phoenix and qualified 3rd before eventually finishing 31st.

Jarrett made it to victory lane the last time he came to Rockingham and he's hoping to repeat that trip this weekend with the same car that took him there in October...this car had not raced prior to last fall's Rockingham event and has not raced since...the win snapped a streak that had seen DJ finish second in six of the previous eight Rockingham events.

Stricklin will be trying to bounce back from the disappointment of not qualifying for the Daytona 500 with a car that has never raced...crew chief Bobby King said the car has attempted to qualify for a couple of events in that past, but he not made the show.

This car had a much different look to it the last time it raced because it was painted in the Tide colors for driver Scott Pruett in the 2000 season finale at Atlanta...WC-14 ran on a number of downforce tracks, including the fall race here at Rockingham when Pruett finished 30th.

Busch has had more experience driving this particular Taurus than any other car in the fleet...he made his NWC debut in this car at Dover in the fall, where he qualified 10th and finished 18th...he also ran it here at Rockingham in October and finished 24th after starting in that same spot.

This car hasn't competed since Burton drove it to a 10th-place finish at Michigan in actually debuted last May in The Winston and compted in its first points race a couple of weeks later in the June Michigan race...started 7th and finished 11th that day.
