can run pretty much everywhere on the track."

BURTON ON RACING AT RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY--
"Our short track program has gotten a lot better in the past couple years. The problem is, the tracks that we used to be strong at -- the 1.5 to 2-mile tracks -- we're struggling at. Our short track program we've definitely been able to get a good handle on over the past two years.
"We're hoping we can go back to Richmond and run well like we did last year. We sat on the pole in the spring race and definitely had a shot to win until we had a transmission problem. But, we ran well and we need to go back there and do it again. We definitely need to qualify good and start up front, so we can stay up there for the entire race. We qualified good at Martinsville and then wrecked in happy hour and had to start last and then last weekend we blew up on our get go lap and had to go to the back. You just can't get through traffic and get to the front as easily as you used to be able to. Our goals this week -- start up front and stay up front.
BURTON ON WHAT IT MEANS TO RACE IN RICHMOND--
"Racing in Richmond is like racing at home. We have a lot of friends and family in Richmond. My grandmother lives there and we get over there to see her. We're friends with the Governor and just have a lot of contacts there that include our friends on the conservation projects and our friends at the State Parks. We have a lot of allies in the Richmond area and it would be very special to win in front of that crowd.
BURTON SHARES A CHILDHOOD MEMORY--
"I can remember going to a race at the old fairgrounds and running a late model on the same weekend the Winston Cup were there. I think I qualified third and finished decent, but it gave me my first real taste for racing at the bigger tracks. I say bigger, it was probably only a ½-mile track, but it was bigger than what we were used to running."
* The Caterpillar team returns to Richmond International Raceway with the same car they ran at Martinsville Speedway, where they started in a backup car, in the rear of the field and finished 25th.
