NASCAR DRIVERS MAKE FINAL TEST PREPARATIONS FOR MARCH 3-5 RIR RACE WEEK

RICHMOND, VA - Richmond International was a beehive of activity this week as Busch Series Grand National and Winston Cup teams participated in final RIR NASCAR testing for Saturday's March 4th Hardee's Frisco 250 and soldout Sunday, March 5th Pontiac Excitement 400.

It was the last chance for drivers to test their powerful racing machines at "The Action Track" over Paul Sawyer's "Fan Friendly" "D"-shaped oval prior to Fas Mart Pole Day on Friday, March 3. Fas Mart POle Day gets underway at 8:00 a.m. with an all-day schedule including Hardee's Frisco 250 pole qualifying at 10:30 a.m. and Pontiac Excitement 400 pole qualifying at 2:30 p.m., followed by 2nd-round Hardee's Frisco 250 time trials.

A record number of entries for both races have been pouring into Sawyer's Richmond office. Drivers will be competing to fill a maximum 39 starting positions in each field.

With $1,290,669 in prize money already posted, Sawyer's March 3-5 weekend will be the richest Virginia motorsports outing ever.

Tickets for all Friday Fas Mart Pole Day and Saturday Hardee's Frisco 250 activities are available at the Richmond International Raceway ticket office. Accompanied children will be admitted free with a ticketholder both days.

Friday adult grandstand seats at RIR are $5, while Saturday adult grandstand admission is $30. Sawyer expects record crowds each day.
