Rusty's Engine was tested three different times and three different ways and each time it fail the compression ratio test. Fines penalties and whatever else should be announced today. More as it is available.

Rusty's Engine was legal before the start of the race. The compression problem was attributed to carbon buildup on the pistons. The only way that anyone knows to increase the compression ratio would require tearing down the engine. So he was legal going in and illegal because of build up. No announcement but look for him to keep the win. He probably will get a fine and really no idea on the points. That is the latest that we hear. We'll see what NASCAR does a bit later.

Rusty Wallace's win Sunday was upheld after additional testing of his engine revealed that it did indeed meet the compression ration specifications mandated by NASCAR Winston Cup Series rules. The decision had kept the status of Wallace's 47th career victory up in the air for nearly 24 hours following the conclusion of the Pontiac Excitement 400.

As expected there appears not to be any fines etc.
