MARTIN TRUEX, JR. NO. 1 BASS PRO SHOPS/TRACKER BOATS IMPALA SS, QUALIFIED
2ND:

GOOD LAP, SECOND WEEK ON THE FRONT ROW, TALK ABOUT YOUR LAP OUT THERE:

"Thanks. It felt good today. The car was pretty good all day long. We made a lot of changes throughout practice. Just like last week, we made a few changes for qualifying and it all worked out for us. Proud of Bono (Kevin Manion, crew chief) and all the guys and all their hard work. Feels good to qualify well. Hopefully we can finish the deal this week."

FOR A DRIVER THAT HAS BEEN IN THE CHASE, HOW BIG OF A DOWNER IS IT NOT TO BE?

"It is disappointing, but at the same time we still have a job to do. We come to the track every week no matter what is going on, where we are at and do the best job we can do for our team, our sponsors and everybody and for ourselves. It is disappointing not to be in it, it is really an exciting thing to be a part of and I was fortunate enough to have done it once. Hopefully we'll do it again. At the same time, we still have a job to do. So we just keep our head down and keep trying to do the best job we can and get in victory lane."

CAN YOU CONFIRM THAT PAT TRYSON IS YOUR CREW CHIEF NEXT YEAR?

"I can not. Next question. (Smiles)"

MARK MARTIN IS GOING FOR THE CHASE, HE IS ON THE BUBBLE, WILL THERE BE ANY DEAL BETWEEN THE TWO OF YOU TO TRADE LEADING THE FIRST LAP?

"No. (Laughs) Not that I know of. You know. I am sure Mark will be fine. He is a heck of a racer and I am sure he has a good car. We'll just see how it all shakes out. Hopefully we can take off and lead some like we did last week. We'll just have to see what happens. Obviously we wouldn't do anything to put him or anyone else in jeopardy but we are going to go out and race hard and do all we can to try to get in victory lane tomorrow night."

DO YOU THINK MARK MARTIN WILL START ON THE ON THE OUTSIDE AT THE START OF THE RACE TOMORROW NIGHT?

"That is a good question, I would say probably so. This is one of those places where you tend to get loose on the bottom, guys pinch you down on the outside. I would say probably. But it depends on where his car is best, where he is most comfortable. We'll just have to wait and see. He has the choice, not me."
