* Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the Penske Racing No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger, is no stranger to Richmond International Raceway, having competed in three different racing series at the .75-mile oval. In IndyCar Series competition, Hornish produced two victories with four top-five results and one pole position in a total of seven starts. In May, Hornish earned a sixth-place finish in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond.

* Hornish has three top-15 finishes, with two top-10 results, this season in short track competition. Hornish earned his first top-10 finish of the year with a ninth-place effort at Phoenix and he followed that up with a sixth-place showing at Richmond and a 13th-place run at Dover.

* Hornish will be on hand to sign autographs at the Penske Racing souvenir trailer on Saturday, September 12 from 3:15 -- 3:45 p.m. EDT at Richmond International Speedway.

Sam Hornish Jr. on Richmond International Raceway

"I've always enjoyed racing at Richmond International Raceway and have been able to find success there in both the IndyCar Series as well as in NASCAR. Earlier this year, the Mobil 1 team earned its second top-10 finish of the season at Richmond and we are all excited to return and hopefully race for a similar result. Richmond is a multi-groove racetrack and that makes for exciting racing for drivers and fans alike. Patience is key at short tracks; you have to put yourself in position to be there at the end of race when it matters most."

Crew Chief Travis Geisler on Richmond International Raceway

"Richmond International Raceway is always exciting with the constant two-wide and three-wide racing. It's always a good show and a definite fan favorite. As always, tire wear and brakes will be a key factor to having a successful race at Richmond. Track position is also very important, as is keeping your driver and team focused and patient. The goal is to have yourself in a good position to race at the end."
