JUAN PABLO MONTOYA, NO. 42 TARGET CHEVROLET, QUALIFIED 2nd:
TALK ABOUT YOUR LAP AFTER GOING OUT SO EARLY:
"I think for the conditions; that was pretty good. I was talking to A.J. (Allmendinger) earlier and the track normally doesn't really get that much quicker here, but it does a little bit. There is enough to lose the pole. I was expecting a lot worse. I was pretty happy when I ran that lap. It was a good lap and when they told me the time, I was like "OH, that was pretty good". I was kind of surprised."
YOU HAD SOME TIRE SMOKE ON THE ONE LAP BUT IT WAS YOUR BEST LAP, WHAT WAS GOING ON?
"Nothing, I was just getting the most out of the car. I was just braking a little too hard when I turned in. That is it. Not a big deal. It smoked the tire, but it wasn't a big lock-up or anything, so it doesn't really affect the lap too much to be honest. It makes it a little tight but as long as you keep turning the wheel, you'll be fine. It is only one lap."
DO YOU THINK THAT THE 'HAVE AT IT BOYS' AND PAY BACK IS GOING TO BE PREVALENT IN THE CHASE OR WILL EVERYTHING SETTLE DOWN?
"I'm not in the Chase, so...If you come to the end of the race and you have a chance to win the race or be clever or smart or go for points, heck, you are going to go for the win. More than the guys in the Chase. You are going to take a bigger risk because those guys have a lot more to lose than you. I think that everybody thinks that way here."
