JOE NEMECHEK, NO. 25 UAW CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO - Winner

"When you get a car that'll go that good - high, low, wherever you want it to go - it is fun. We've been so close to winning and here we are. I'm real proud of this entire UAW team and this Chevrolet was awesome all night.

We had to stop. We couldn't take a chance on running out of gas. Everything came back our way. The car was actually a little bit freer on taking two tires. I was actually expecting it to be tight. But man, it run just as fast. It didn't seem like it mattered what we did to this UAW Chevrolet. It was going to go to the front."

YOU'VE BEEN KNOCKING ON THE DOOR AND NOW YOU'RE IN THE WINSTON

"Getting in The Winston is cool. These guys are pumped up. We've been talking about that. We've had some tough luck these past four or five weeks. We're up there in the top 10 in points and then all of a sudden we fell back to 20th and it's tough. Man. We've been trying to get into Victory Lane and I think this is just one of many to come. Rick Hendrick gets everybody involved and this is a great effort."

ROBBY GORDON, NO. 31 CINGULAR WIRELESS CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO - finished 4th:

"What an incredible effort for the Cingular Wireless team. We cut a tire as soon as the race started and the car got awfully loose. I couldn't even touch the gas. We pitted under green and lost three laps. Soon, it was awesome and the fastest car out there, but we couldn't go anywhere because we were three (laps) down. But we were patient and kept our nose clean and made up those laps one-by-one. Kevin Hamlin made some great calls and before we knew it, we were leading the race.

"We came from three laps down to lead - that's a testament to what a good team these Cingular guys are. We got a little too loose to stay up front --- but man, we were good. It was a great morale day and points day for us. The car was totally awesome to drive. It was like a Sprint Car all around the race track. I didn't know we had a flat tire. I just thought we missed it big on handling. I held on for about 20 laps and then I finally told Kevin (Hamlin, crew chief) I had to pit or we were going to wreck."

IT WAS A PRETTY WILD DAY FOR YOU, WASN'T IT?

"We had a really good race car. My hat's off to Richard Childress Racing and Cingular Wireless and all the guys on this race team. We knew yesterday that we had a really good race car and we couldn't believe that we missed it that early. Come to find out we had a flat tire. But we were able to make them up and finish fourth. It would have been nice if we didn't have that flat and been able to race these guys clean at the end of the race.

TONY RAINES, NO. 74 BACE MOTORSPORTS CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:

"I'd like to race at Richmond four times a year instead of twice. I like this racetrack. I race good here. I don't qualify very well. I started 35th, which was a disadvantage. But, that one long green my car really came in well and we moved up to 23rd or something like that. We struggled in the pits a little bit tonight. But, I'm happy to finish on the lead lap. We ran competitive. I think as a team we get better each week and learn a little bit more. I had a lot of fun tonight. It was typical Richmond. It was rough at times and exciting at times. But, if you use your head and play it smart - it seems like that works out for me in the long run. All in all, it was a good night."

DALE EARNHARDT, JR., NO. 8 BUDWEISER CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO:

ON PULLING WITHIN 20 POINTS OF THE LEAD

"That's half of what we were, so I'm pretty happy. I didn't know exactly what had happened to Matt early in the race. His crew did a masterful job getting his car better and he came up through there and got a good finish. It's going to be tough no matter whether it's me or anybody else. It's going to be tough to beat him this year. I think his team is really on par to what they need to be doing. He is a great race car driver. They've just got a solid effort every weekend. But, I'm pretty happy with our finish. We raced hard tonight. I raced Bobby a lot. That was a lot of fun - kind of give and take. But, the rain - the midway thing - that was kind of crappy because I made the wrong call I feel like.
