"I don't know if a shock broke or something. I got up against the wall and the car just turned right, and then I got into the wall, which isn't that big of a deal, but it still just didn't have any feeling in it and I wasn't really in control. We're not real sure. We're having to replace a lot of stuff now, but we don't really know what happened to cause the problem."
DAVID GILLILAND -- No. 38 M&M's Ford Fusion (Finished 42nd)
"It's just real disappointing. The M&M's Ford Fusion didn't start out real good, but Todd Parrott and all the guys kept making adjustments and getting it better and better. We were racing Johnny Benson, who was a couple of laps down, we were one lap down and we just needed a little bit more room out there. It's too bad to end our day this way. We needed a good finish here for points, but we'll be back next week at Darlington and see what we can do there."
RICKY RUDD -- No. 88 Pedigree Ford Fusion (Finished 37th)
"We were just trying to salvage a decent finish out of it. Those guys were coming on the inside and outside and it was the end of the race. Our car was pretty fast for four or five laps and then it would fade away. I was trying to give everybody room, but I guess everybody got anxious with it being at the end of the race."
DAVID RAGAN -- No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Finished 20th)
PIT ROAD WAS A TOUGH PLACE FOR YOU TODAY. "Yeah. We just didn't have good track position from there on out. We had a top six, seven or eight car. On that long green flag run I felt like we were just about as good as it could get. Then we're battling lapped cars the whole day and I just got really frustrated. It was tough to get around them and then we had a lot of quick cautions there at the end that certainly hurt us. We had a top 10 car and finished 20th with it, so I don't know what that means, but we've got to do a little better than that."
WHAT HAPPENED ON PIT ROAD? "He was coming out of his box and I was going in mine. His crew chief or spotter, or whoever calls him out of the pits, possibly didn't see us coming in and our team didn't know he was ready to leave. He pulled out and I was pulling in. It's just one of those things, and then we were backwards and went on to change the right-side tires, which was a good call. We could have rebounded from that if we didn't have all those late cautions."
WHAT DID YOU THINK WHEN THEY SAID TO GO AHEAD AND DO THE PIT STOP? "I said, 'Perfect. Yeah. We're in here, we need to do it.' I actually backed up a little bit so I would be in the stall. We need to prepare for that. I think we didn't know what to do for a few seconds and then they went on and changed the right-side tires to make sure the rights were on the right and the lefts were on left. We just had to compromise and the AAA pit crew did a great job of compromising today. We just never seemed to be able to get any good track position." WHAT WAS IT LIKE TO SEE GUYS GOING PAST YOU SITTING BACKWARDS? "I had a birds-eye view Clint Bowyer. We were nose-to-nose. That's not what we want to have happen, but when you're at a short track -- there was no harm done on our car, just poor track position."
CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Finished 12th)
"That's about the best we ran all day is to finish up 12th, so I'm pretty happy with that -- as happy as I can be with our performance today. I think we can show up and have some things maybe that could be better, but we're working on all of that and I think it's gonna be good eventually."
AFTER LAST WEEK THIS IS WHAT YOU NEEDED TO REBOUND. "Yeah. When we have a 12th-place car, we need to run 12th. We can't blow up. The deal is we're not running fast enough right now to go out and make up for bad days, so these days have to be our bad ones."
GREG BIFFLE -- No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Finished 19th)
"I felt pretty good about the car. I wouldn't change much if I had it to go over again. I was relatively happy with it and it was better than Phoenix."
MATT KENSETH -- No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion (Finished 10th)
"I feel like we've got 20th-place cars or so and we're just getting good pit stops and calling the race good and not getting in accidents and finishing 10th with them. We've got a long ways to go with these cars. I don't know. We just can't keep up."
