Richmond: Elliott Sadler special scheme

RYR #38 Ford to Feature White Chocolate M&M'S® in Celebration of Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"

CHARLOTTE, N.C., (May 2, 2006) -- This weekend the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series comes ashore at the Richmond International Raceway with Virginia native Elliott Sadler at the helm of the #38 White Chocolate M&M'S® Ford. Looking for his first win at his home track, Sadler and his trusty hands hope that "M" marks the spot and the treasure awaiting will be a trip to victory lane.

The special paint scheme on the #38 Ford Fusion is part of a promotion in conjunction with the July 7th release of the new Walt Disney Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer Film's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," as well as the introduction of the M&M'S White Chocolate Pirates Pearls. This marks the first time M&M'S has released a white chocolate candy in the United States, which will be available nationwide for a limited time.

"This is just another reason why I love having M&M'S as my sponsor," said Sadler. "To get to drive such a fun and colorful paint scheme is something I am really excited about, especially in front of the fans in my home state of Virginia. Pirates of the Caribbean is going to be one the biggest movie releases of the year and to be a part of a summer blockbuster like this is pretty cool. Hopefully all of my fans will get a bag of the new White Chocolate M&M'S and cheer our team to victory on Saturday night in Richmond."

Joining Sadler on his #38 Ford Fusion are three of his biggest supporters in the M&M'S Characters -- Red, Yellow and Green. Each character will be featured in their favorite pirate costume against a tropical background with the new White Chocolate M&M'S Pirate Pearls featured on the hood. In addition, Pirate Red will be at the track for the racing action on Saturday.

"We're excited to introduce our M&M'S White Chocolate Pirate Pearls to both M&M'S and NASCAR fans this weekend at Richmond" said Masterfoods USA Director of Sponsorship William Clements. "Short track racing at Richmond under the lights is always thrilling but to be able to partner with one of the most anticipated movie releases of the year makes it more exciting for all of our fans. This is the first time M&M'S has introduced a white chocolate candy in the United States and our NASCAR program proved again to be a fun and creative way to bring it to our consumers."

Along the story line of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," the M&M'S Candies reflect the tone, colors and imagery of the movie, including changing-color M&M'S MINISÒ Sunken Treasure Mix, M&M'SÒ Milk Chocolate Pirate Gems and M&M'SÒ Peanut Chocolate Captain's Gold varieties. White chocolate M&M'S are a custom pearl/Caribbean color blend including white, cream, pastel yellow and light blue candy shell colors and the candies have special pirate images, such as a pirate ship and nautical spyglass, imprinted on them. The packaging will also showcase the loveable M&M'S® Brand Characters in a variety of pirate costumes alongside actor Johnny Depp, as Captain Jack Sparrow.
