David Stremme and the No. 40 Wrigley's Winterfresh Dodge Team Facts:
* ACB....not ABC: When referring to NASCAR lingo, smart money says the term "ABC" refers to the development ladder dubbed "ARCA-Busch-Cup". But David Stremme's 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series might best be described by "ACB"..."Another-Career-Best". Stremme drove his No. 40 Wrigley's Winterfresh Dodge Charger to an eighth-place finish Sunday in Talladega and moved up four spots to 14th in the standings. Stremme is just 44 points out of 12th place -- the final cutoff position to make The Chase. The result marks the third time this season Stremme has either tied or bettered his best NNCS finish (Daytona-11th, Texas-10th and Talladega-8th)
* Professional Driver. Closed Course: With confidence high and his rookie year behind him, Stremme and the No. 40 team continue to display signs of improvement from the 2006 season. When comparing '06 to '07 through nine races, Stremme has moved up 23 spots in points (37-14), scored two more top-10 finishes, and led a race (Talladega).
* Stremme On Capital Hill: Stremme traveled Tuesday afternoon with fellow NASCAR drivers Casey Mears, Jeff Burton and NASCAR officials from Concord, N.C. to Washington D.C. to support The Motorsports Coalition's event to educate members of Congress on all the moving parts of the motorsports industry and on the different pieces of legislation that can impact the sport as a whole. The Motorsports Coalition is comprised of motorsports sanctioning bodies and was further represented by a majority of the track presidents of NASCAR sanctioned venues, and a NNCS All-Star showcar.
* It's All about our Fans: CGRFS will wave the yellow flag on Friday, May 25, and take a break from racing 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET to thank its fans for their support. The Second Annual CGRFS Fan Appreciation Day will involve a variety of activities at the team's Concord, N.C., race shop, including pit stop demonstrations, games and prizes. A complimentary lunch will be provided by TUMS, but don't forget to bring in your non-perishable food items to help TUMS Relief for Hunger. All donations will support Speedway Children's Charities Second Harvest food bank. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup CGRFS drivers David Stremme, Reed Sorenson and Juan Pablo Montoya, will also be at the shop to meet fans and sign autographs from 1 to 3 p.m. ET. Wristbands will guarantee an autograph and can be picked up in person at the team's gift shop or by calling 1.866.888.6388 to reserve one. Please note autographs are limited to one item per person per driver. To learn more and keep up to pace on this event and further team updates, go to www.chipganassiracing.com.
