Dale Earnhardt Jr. - driver, No. 8 Budweiser team:
"Richmond is one of my favorite tracks, and I'm pretty anxious to get there. Having an off-weekend for Mother's Day was nice ... it's always fun to hang out with my mom and my family. It's time to go racing again. I've always liked Richmond, because you can run side-by-side there, and for me that's all I need to be a happy dude. They resurfaced the place, and sometimes that means one-groove racing, but I hear it should be a wide groove by the time we start the race Saturday night."
"Night-racing is awesome. It's like that Kenny Chesney song ... Everything is hotter when the sun goes down. That's kind of the way I feel, whether it's racing, drinking a beer, hanging out with friends. Racing at night is just more fun, I think for the fans as much as the drivers. We won here (in 2000) at night, and it seems like we've always been good when the lights are on." (see note below)
