How was your qualifying run?
"Man, it stinks going early for two reasons -- they are going to get faster and I have to sit and watch. I'm happy with lap and the whole Red Bull team. We tested this week and they've been working their butts off at the shop. Here at the track the car is better. I was so nervous before qualifying, but my crew chief Rick Viers, he's as cool as the other side of the pillow. He's good for me. This is the same car we ran at Phoenix and we tested it and it's gotten better."
How will your test session at Iowa Speedway this week benefit you here?
"I think we learned a lot at the test. In a lot of ways Iowa is like Richmond and in a lot of ways it is not. So, I think the car is a lot better than we've ever had it. We've learned a lot of things to improve. I felt comfortable, I really felt comfortable for the first time in the car and just the way it handled. I'm really happy about that. Hopefully that comes to Richmond and makes the same thing. I can guarantee that we won't be as bad or the same as we were. We will improve, matter of how much to get us in the race, time will tell that."
Did the seat time beneficial with you still being new to the series?
"Any time I get to test is good seat time for me. More importantly, what was good was the fact that we got the car good enough at least at Iowa that I could start driving it the way I felt like I could be fast in the car instead of just driving to what the car had. I could start doing some of my things that I like to do, like with the throttle in the middle of the corner and how far I could drive it in. There was a lot of stuff that I could start playing around with and that's what made me feel most comfortable."
