Petty Enterprises driver, Jerry Nadeau will sit out Martinsville after sustaining rib injuries in a go-kart accident Thursday night. Steve Grissom, who filled in for several races earlier this season after the dismissal of Buckshot Jones, will take over the responsibilities for the #44 Georgia-Pacific Dodge until Nadeau is well enough to return. "Steve has done a great job for us before and he has good Winston Cup experience," said Kyle Petty, CEO of Petty Enterprises. "Martinsville has been a good track for him, and we think he will do a great job for us and Georgia-Pacific. We really appreciate him stepping in and helping us out so quickly."

Grissom made nine starts this season with the Petty's, his best finish in the #44 was at the May race in Richmond. He has started 150 races in his Winston Cup career, Grissom has two best career finished of fourth; both of which came in 1997. His last start in the Petty Dodge was in New Hampshire before Nadeau signed on with Petty Enterprises.
