Loudon, NH -- Rain is in the forecast throughout the afternoon at New Hampshire. The 43 Winston Cup teams set to race this afternoon are currently waiting out a rain delay and by the looks of it, may have some more downtime as the afternoon progresses.

The start time of the race was pushed up, but just as the drivers got fastened in their cars, the rain began to fall. Track dryers are out and if the rain can hold off, the green should fall shortly.

UPDATE:

After nearly an hour long rain delay pushing back the start of the race, the green flag finally fell on the New Hampshire 300.

20 laps in to the race, rain began to fall yet again, bringing out the red flag. Heavy rain is in the forecast throughout the afternoon.

Pole sitter Ryan Newman led every lap so far.
