NORTH CAROLINA - DURA LUBE 400
KENNY WALLACE, NO. 27 EEL RIVER RACING PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
(ON THE LAP ONE INCIDENT INVOLVING DALE EARNHARDT, JR.)
"It was just like a traffic jam. Everybody was wanting the bottom of the racetrack and everybody stacked up. I guess somebody got into the back of 'Little E' (Earnhardt, Jr.) and then he got up into me and all hell broke loose. It's a bad deal."
BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
(HOW TOUGH IS IT TO HAVE THIS WEEKEND DRAG ON ONE MORE DAY?)
"Well, we definitely wanted to get out of here today. I'm sure everybody did. We all want to go on to Vegas and everything. But it didn't happen, so we'll come back tomorrow and run the rest of the race. But, we definitely would like to be going home tonight instead of racing (tomorrow), but sometimes you can't help it." (HOW MUCH DOES THIS PUT THE TEAM BEHIND IN PREPARING FOR THE VEGAS RACE?)
"The guys have already talked about trying to get our stuff lined up to get loaded up and get set up for Vegas to get ready to leave Monday night or Tuesday morning. It's not going to make for an 'all-nighter,' but it's going to be a 'half o'nighter.'"
JOE GIBBS, TEAM OWNER, JOE GIBBS RACING:
(HOW TOUGH IS IT TO STAY HERE ANOTHER DAY?)
"I think it's hard on everybody, but it's part of what we do. We knew it (the weather) was going to be risky today, but I think NASCAR did the best they could at getting it in and they didn't. That's part of what we do. You've got to be resilient. You've got to be the kind of team that can bounce back, get ready to go tomorrow and hopefully have a good day."
JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
(ANY IDEA HOW GOOD YOUR CAR IS YET)
"Well, we passed four cars on the first lap. That was cool. But of course, then we got a little bit of rain, then we ran a little bit, then it rained, so it's really hard to get a feel what the car is like. But I think we're in pretty good shape. I felt that way when we left 'Happy Hour' that we were going to be alright and I feel that way going into tomorrow. We made an adjustment there on that last pit stop and we'll have to wait and see if it's alright." (IS THERE MORE IMPORTANCE THAN USUAL ON THE TEAM AND THE ABILITY TO MAKE CHANGES TOMORROW?)
"I think tomorrow's race is going to be exactly the way we started today. The track is washed off now and it's going to be that way again. I think it will be fine. I'm looking forward to it. I think everything will be in good shape. I just hate that we're doing it on Monday."
KEN SCHRADER, NO. 36 M&M'S PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
(ON HIS CAR)
"We were tight, tight, tight, and we've made wholesale changes. Now we're going to think about it and probably make some more in the morning and see what we've got."
(IS THERE MORE IMPORTANCE THAN USUAL ON THE TEAM AND THE ABILITY TO MAKE
"Yeah, probably. And just the fact that this does give you some more time to think about what you want to do. The teams that know how to adjust up are going to get better."
