JAMES INCE, CREW CHIEF, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX: ARE THE DODGES REALLY AS GOOD AS THEY LOOKED YESTERDAY? "You don't get on the front row at Daytona if you're not that good. It's a little bit disappointing for us, especially when you're sitting here with a Pontiac and all you've ever heard is people whine about if for two years and us getting nothing and everybody else getting something else. Now, it's pretty apparent that you've got another manufacturer in here that's getting something else.

"Yeah, it's worrisome to us. Ray (Evernham) has good a good race team. You knew he was going to have a good race team, but man, it's hard to believe you can come right out of the box and sit on the pole at Daytona. That really worries you a lot. And the problem is if you look at the test speeds from the other tracks they've been to and they've been right there with us also, so yeah, there are a lot of worries going on right now." (DO YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO BE AS GOOD THIS WEEK IN THE DRAFT?) "I don't know how you slow a fast race car down. I've never seen that happen. A fast race car is a fast race car. I don't know. Hopefully we can put them in their own draft and five of them can work together and the rest of us can go race."

ARE YOU WORRIED THEY WILL BE EQUALLY STRONG AFTER DAYTONA ALSO? "You've got to be worried. Anytime there is an unknown you have to be concerned about that. Like I say, we worked so hard to get the things that we've got and we haven't gotten anything, and have had to work on what we've had. So yeah, there are big worries there. I'm sure NASCAR will look at it and they'll try to do something about it. I just hope that we don't lose three or four races before that happens."

BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX: HOW SPECIAL IS IT TO BE NOMINATED FOR AN ESPY AWARD? "It's definitely a great honor. Getting to go out there (Monday night) and be part of a deal with so many world-class athletes, that all by itself is pretty cool. I'm pretty excited about that.

"To be nominated for "driver of the year" - when you think about all the race car drivers that there are out there, then it really makes you go, 'Holy cow! This is huge!' It's going to be a neat deal. It is a neat deal."

IS IT MORE SPECIAL TO BE HONORED AMONG ATHLETES FROM OUTSIDE YOUR SPORT? "It's one thing to be honored by people within your class, but to be there amongst the best from every sport that we all watch - I mean, we're talking about golfers, football players, baseball players, hockey players, track and field, basketball and all that stuff. You know, I haven't been there yet, but I think it's going to be pretty neat."

IS THERE ANYBODY SPECIFIC FROM ANOTHER SPORT THAT YOU'RE HOPING TO MEET? "No, not really. I don't have anybody that I'm thinking about like, 'OK, I've got my autograph pen and I'm going to go find this guy when I get there.' I guess it just doesn't matter who I run into. I think I'm going to be excited about anybody. All the stars and the people that you admire in every division of athletics are going to be there. I'm not going to be picky."
