BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

"We pretty much just stayed in place most of the day. We started fourth and just hung around the top 10 for the most part. We weren't quite as good as we would've liked to have been but it still wasn't too bad."

JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 EAGLE ONE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

ON HIS MISFORTUNE AFTER RUNNING IN THE TOP 10 ALL DAY
"Today's how our luck's been going the last couple of weeks. We had a great race car and the guys did a tremendous job. I'm real proud of the guys. We had a top-five race car, but you've got to finish to benefit from such a good car."

WHAT HAPPENED THERE AT THE END OF THE RACE?
"We got put towards the back after our stop-and-go and had worked our way back to 17th or 18th, and then on the last lap I think it broke the rear-end gear. That really put a crimp to our day."

WHAT HAPPENED ON THE PENALTY FOR SPEEDING ON PIT ROW?
"I don't know what happened on that one. I shifted from second too first to try and get some RPMs up and I think when I did that they thought I took off on the gas pedal two or three pits too early. That's just one of those deals."

RON HORNADAY JR., NO. 14 CONSECO PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

WHAT A TURNAROUND TO THE WAY THE RACE WEEKEND STARTED.
"That's what we've got to continue to do is learn from our mistakes and go on. We've definitely got a good race car and a good race team. It's just a matter of getting some luck on our side. And I'm happy with the way we've been performing except for qualifying. Here we broke a brake line and had to bring out the backup, and you never think you'll need your backup on a road course but we did and we just weren't quite prepared for it. We changed a lot of things on it and during the last practice we got the car better."

HOW DID THE RACE GO FOR YOU?
"The car wasn't just right but it wasn't bad, and then about halfway through the race I went to pass a lapped car and he ran into us and bent the front end. No telling where the car could've finished because it was fast earlier. I'm happy. This whole team's turning around, and sometimes things happen in racing you can't control but as long as we learn from it, we'll get better and eventually get some wins out of it."
