BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LAP?
"Not really. We were looking to pick up a little bit from practice. But the stuff that we changed after practice really didn't make the difference that we wanted. We'll just have to worry about our race setup now. One or two laps right now is kind of immaterial, so we're just thinking about our race setup."
KENNY WALLACE, NO. 27 DUKE'S MAYONNAISE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
ON FAILING TO QUALIFY
"This is a car that we had at Atlanta and I didn't care for it there. We took a provisional in Atlanta and now this here. It looks like we just need to sort out what I like. It feels like a kick in the gut. We're just going through some tough times right now, but we'll be at Pocono."
JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
ON YOUR RUN "It wasn't too bad. Turns one and two were really good. I was hoping to be a little better in three and four, but I wasn't. But we're still pretty happy with that. We thought maybe we had an outside shot at being up in the front row, but we'll take this."
WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR THEM ON SUNDAY?
"We're not sure yet. We'll have to get through 'Happy Hour' tomorrow and see how it is. But we're fairly confident that we're going to have a good race car. Anytime we usually qualify decent, [the car] usually runs good. It feels good and we're real happy with it. I'm just hoping Sunday goes a lot better than it did last week."
THIS IS THE SAME CAR YOU RAN AT CALIFORNIA WHERE YOU LED EARLY ON...CAN YOU DUPLICATE THAT TYPE OF RUN SUNDAY?
"It will be a little bit more difficult here. This track is a little bit different. It's a little bit faster and has a little bit more banking. But still, this is a good race car and we feel that it will run good. And if it runs good here, we're going to take it somewhere else. It's been a good car for us. "We're going to do everything we can to lead some laps on Sunday and try to have a good run. I'm looking forward to it."
RON HORNADAY, NO. 14 CONSECO PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT YOU MADE THE RACE AFTER THE WAY PRACTICE WENT?
"If you had come to me just before qualifying I would have said, 'I hate to be the one to call A.J. [Foyt], but we're going home.' But these guys went and talked to some people. I've got to thank everybody over at Richard Childress Racing. They basically told us what Kevin [Harvick] had in his car. We've never run anything like that before, but we had done it in the Busch car before. It was like, 'We have nothing to lose.' We picked up dramatically and that's what put us in the show here at Michigan. "I thought we were going home today. Just to qualify for this race is a big plus to us."
