BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THAT LAP? "For ourselves, it was pretty good. I wish I could have picked up another half a tenth to a tenth because that would have been a whole lot better for us compared to some other guys. But the guys did a good job today. We didn't run that many laps."
HOW WAS THE TRACK? "It was OK. It still had a lot of grip in it. The track temperature had gone up some from when we practiced, but it was still pretty good. It felt like the car gripped just as good, if not better in some places, than it did earlier today."
JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR QUALIFYING LAP? "I thought I would go a little bit better than that, but I didn't. It was just a little slippery out there."
DO YOU THINK YOU'VE GOT SOMETHING TO WORK WITH FOR SUNDAY? "I think so. Of course, we'll have to change everything - there's a big difference from qualifying setups to the race setups. But, this was good or better than we've had. It was just hotter then. I thought I could run in the 'thirties' or 'forties' (29.30 or 29.40 seconds) and ran a 'fifty.' We'll just see by the end of the weekend how things work out."
TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
ON QUALIFYING: "This was a normal deal. They (the team) have got a driver that can race good; he just doesn't qualify good. I don't know. I can't qualify to save myself, but we race good. I know we've got a good race car. It's just a matter of getting to where we need to be. We were a little loose qualifying, but we'll be OK."
KEN SCHRADER, NO. 36 M&M'S PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR QUALIFYING RUN? "We wanted more. That's what we ran in practice and I thought we could get more. But, we just didn't tighten it up enough and we ran the same speed we ran in practice. "We want a pole. We want a pole bad. But, it's a good starting spot for Sunday."
WERE YOU GOOD OFF THE TRAILER? "No. We made a major change. We only ran a half a lap the first time and we decided we needed to change the chassis setup a little bit. Newt [Moore] told me we were just trying something. Then we went back to our more conventional stuff and it hasn't changed from there."
ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THAT? "We won't be in the front, but we'll be able to see the front. It's a good starting spot, but the starting spot isn't critical for this deal."
IS ANY CORNER HERE MORE DIFFICULT THAN ANY OF THE OTHERS? "This place and Pocono - it's whichever corner I'm approaching seems to be the tough one."
