IS THERE ANY REASON YOU HAVE GRAVITATED TO DOVER SO WELL RIGHT FROM THE START? “I really like Dover and the reason why is concrete, high-bank, fast, difficult, bumpy – those are the things I like about that place. I like challenging places and that’s definitely literally one of the most challenging places. That’s why I like it.”
DO YOU FEEL THE SENSATION OF SPEED AT DOVER MAYBE MORE THAN OTHER PLACES? “Yeah. You go over that jump getting into turn one and the car goes up in the air and lands, it slides and it’s bumpy, so you definitely have a sensation of big-time speed at Dover.
DOVER PIT ROAD – "Darlington and Dover are probably two of the toughest we go to. They are really super-hard to get on because it’s so flat and the track is kind of going away from you because the corner is tightening up. It’s sandy and it’s just hard to get down there and get slowed down to get on pit road because you’ve got to have the right speed before you get on the apron because on the apron you can’t slow down and you can’t turn, so if you’re not going the right speed, you’re gonna miss it period.”
VICTORY LANE -- “Just getting there is all that matters and it’s a cool trophy -- the Monster trophy is awesome. I know what it looks and feels like and I want to be there again.”
DID YOU EVER HAVE EXPERIENCE ON CONCRETE TRACKS COMING UP? “I had never raced on concrete race tracks until I got here and ran at Bristol and Dover, so that was the first time for me.”
