"You need to approach Pocono almost like a road course. It has three corners that are all different and I don't think anyone has figured out how to get their car to handle perfectly in all three. We'll do our best to get the #22 handling good enough to make it through all three decently and not leave too much lying there."

- Ward Burton, driver of Caterpillar No. 22

BURTON ON POCONO...

"Pocono is a real different track and over the years the Mattioli's have done a super job at keeping it updated and looking nice. The track itself is like no other track we go to. The three turns all handle different. You have turn one that is a little wider and a little more banking than the other corners and then you have the tunnel turn where it gets a little narrower and a little less banking and finally you have turn three where it is just about flat and very narrow. It is real difficult to get a handle on all of those turns and then you add shifting to it and that adds a whole new element to the racing. We'll just see what we can do on Friday to get us a good starting spot and then hopefully finish the race in one piece."

STODDARD ON THE UNIQUENESS OF POCONO...

"Pocono International Raceway is a difficult track to get a setup for with all the different turns. The biggest challenge we'll have is to get the setup good enough in a couple of the turns and then compromise somewhere else on the track. I don't think anyone will say they run perfect there in every corner, but we'll need to get it as close to perfect as we can. I think with our run in Texas and Charlotte, we've proven that we are making gains on the bigger tracks. We certainly have been running better at those tracks than the No. 22 has over the past few years. We'll try and get the CAT car up front again this week and get a good finish for everyone."

CAT EQUIPMENT...

* The Caterpillar team returns to Pocono International Raceway with car 72, the same car they ran at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The team cut off the old body and hung a new one after Burton started 20th and finished 25th. Car 72 is an in house built chassis.

CAT NEWS...

* Ward Burton and the No. 22 Caterpillar team tested Tuesday at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) near Danville, Va., in preparation for the Winston Cup's return to Infineon Raceway the end of June. VIR is a 3.2-mile track that allows the team to shake down the racecar and wear in the breaks.
