Mobil 1 Team News and Notes of Interest

* Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the Penske Racing No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger, advanced four positions in both the 2009 Cup Series driver and owner point standings after a strong run at Dover International Speedway last weekend. After starting in 12th place, Hornish was caught nearly two laps down when the caution flag waved during green flag pit stops. Returning to lead-lap racing with just 30 laps to go, Hornish secured a 13th-place finish as the checkered flag waved.

* Following the finish at Dover, Hornish moved up four positions in the driver standings to the 26th spot. He now sits just 82 points outside of 20th place. The No. 77 team is also 26th in the owner point standings, also 82 points outside of the 20th position.

* Hornish will be on hand to sign autographs at the Penske Racing souvenir trailer at Pocono Raceway on Sunday, June 7 from 10:30 -- 11 a.m. EDT.

Sam Hornish Jr. on Pocono Raceway

"Pocono Raceway is a unique track in that none of the three corners are the same. To be successful, you have to figure out which turn the car is strongest in and realize that you may have to give a little in the other turns to be your best overall.

"I can't say enough about the momentum of this Mobil 1 team. Last weekend at Dover, we had a phenomenal race car. It was a true test of patience for all of us to overcome a two-lap deficit after an untimely caution during green flag pit stops. We earned a top-15 finish in the end and gained four spots in both the driver and owner point standings. We're all looking forward to getting back on track in Pocono and continuing to move forward."

Crew Chief Travis Geisler on Pocono Raceway

"Pocono is close to a home track for me since I am from Pennsylvania. It is one of the most unique tracks on the Cup Series circuit. The different banking and speeds in each corner creates a challenge to get the car comfortable all the way around the track. I always like going to Pocono because it forces you to get creative with adjustments to have a fast car. With a good run last week, the Mobil 1 Dodge is now 26th in owner points and I look forward to keeping our momentum going as we head into Pocono."
