Notes:

This particular combination of left- and right-side tires was introduced at Pocono in June 2001, making this the sixth consecutive race they will be used at this two-and-a-half-mile track . . . Winston Cup teams also used this combination at Pocono last month and will use it again at Indianapolis next week . . . in addition, Busch and Truck Series teams will run this combination at both Gateway and Pike's Peak in 2003 . . . as on all NASCAR ovals longer than one mile, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Pocono . . . the air pressure in the inner liners must be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Goodyear Quote - Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Tire Development:

"This completes the third straight season that Goodyear has brought this tire set-up to Pocono, and it has been proven out to be one of the most popular combinations in our tire line. With tires not really being an issue here, teams will concentrate a great deal on figuring out the chassis set-up that gives them the best chance of success on this unique, triangular track. Since all three turns are distinct, the teams that have the most success at Pocono are ultimately the ones that have to compromise the least."
